Andrew, no I haven't received AOR yet, which concerns me. If I add 2 weeks to the 62 days that will be mid-late this month when I get SA, but surely I should get AOR before then? Is it worth me calling them?
YES! Call now! Either you got your AOR, but missed the notification, or your application is missing and you're better off resubmitting now (they will look for up to 3 months after, but there is no guarantee that they'll find it). You are past the posted date, so you'll get more of a reply than "keep waiting".
I'm Feb 6 and they still can't find mine so I'm submitting another one plus my mp is involved so try them too it's best too resubmit they told me too

Hi all,
I'm new on here but I've been reading and the info provided is really helpful. Has anyone who filed an application late February (around 26) had AOR as yet? Getting anxious.
They received our app Feb.24 and I received SA e-mail Apr.13
Received an e-mail yesterday asking for a passport scan, Appendix A form scan and 2 new photos so that they can send COPR.
I saw on ECAS last week that they received our app 18 feb. We called CIC again today and they told us that they had sent an email to see what is happening with our app ( it s been 76 days since they received our app and still no SA) but they have no answer yet. So the only thing we can do is to wait. I thought that the first step was going to be fast...
We spoke to CIC last week who said that as the website stated that they were processing applications past the date that ours was received (Feb 24) that they would investigate, and asked us to call back a week later...
So we called today and they told us that my wife had been checked as a sponsor and it was all fine and she was eligible, but that it would still be a couple of weeks before the email is sent. They told us they didn't need more documents and that they didn't know the visa office
Hi Pete, did they tell you why it is going to be another couple of weeks before they send you an email with SA?
Just curious what takes so long

Sadly not...it's very frustrating. When we spoke to them last week they did mention that there were plenty of cases that had been dealt with but that the applicants hadn't been notified due to them being so backed up, so maybe something to do with that

I have tried to call the only phone number I can find on the CIC website, which is the Call Centre number 1-888-242‑2100, but whenever I call, I get a message saying that the "call cannot be completed as dialled, please hang up and try again".
I also tried calling Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, on 1-613-944-4000, which is something someone advised on this forum, and I followed loads of options and eventually the automated machine just told me they were experiencing high call volumes and then hung up.
I'm starting to freak now! Does anyone know how to call these people?! Do I have the right number?

I just tried this number (in Canada) and it's correct. Make sure you're dialing out correctly. You might need to dial something like +1-1-888-242-2100

if you provided email in application, then you usally get SA in email. If you haven't recieve email from them today. Call CIC on monday to ask, where my application went (visa office). If there was no email then you have to wait for the letter to arrive. Where does your sponsored person lives. Then we can answer which VO it went to probably.
We are from Greece so I am guessing it will be sent to Rome.
The number you have is correct. I was only able to get on to an agent in the morning between 8 - 9
Ok, so here's the situation.
My application is now out of processing times - they received it on Feb 24th, and 62 days expired last Monday. I have not received AOR or SA. Nothing. No correspondence whatsoever.
Everyone on here as told me to call them, but the only number I can find on the CIC website only says you can call from within Canada (I try to call from UK, but it just fails every time). I tried calling another number, Foreign Trade and Development, because it redirects you to CIC, but the automated message just says they are "experiencing high call volumes" and hangs up. So, I cannot call them. Every effort results in a brick wall.
So, I just submitted a Case Specific Enquiry Form found on the CIC website. Basically, a web form that I can use to send an enquiry if my application is INSIDE Canada - which it is (I mailed it to Mississauga and have Royal Mail confirmation that it was delivered). I have no idea if anyone is going to come back to me though...
Can anyone advise me or offer any help or guidance on what I should do to try and get a status update on my application? It would be OK if I had AOR, but as I don't even have this, and I'm outside of processing times, I'm starting to really worry now. And the fact that I can't even call them doesn't help!
Try calling the 613 number during the morning in Canada (-5 from GMT).
The call times are low in the morning but I believe jump drastically during the day. Another option for "In Canada" is get a Skype calling plan and try calling using Skype.

Shep, I am using Skype to call, but still nothing.
Are you trying between 8 and 9 EDT (Canada is in Daylight Hours for most of the country now, keep that in mind)
The other possibility is Skype is messing it up somehow (Skype sometimes does a 00000000 number). Don't know what to suggest. I doubt CPC-M will get back to you regarding your CSE
