Hi Seniors,
I have a query regarding Police Clearing Certificate.
I am a secondary applicant and have stayed in USA twice ( 4 months each time) Sep-Dec 2013 and Aug -Dec 2015
1) Being a secondary applicant , Do I need Police Clearing Certificate ??
Yes. You need your medical exam too.
2) If Yes, then Is it required in my case since I haven't stayed there for 6 or more months at a stretch??
Doesn't matter. If you have stayed in any country for a TOTAL (irrespective of whether it is continuous or not), you require a PCC.
3) I guess it takes 10-12 weeks to get it from FBI. How does one get it in time once an ITA is received?
That would be up to you. People should start getting PCC well in advance (especially FBI PCC because it takes a long time). People have been successful in submitting the e-APR before they received FBI PCC (They included a LOE explaining that they have ordered for a FBI PCC but they haven't received it yet). If you are planning to do this, then I would recommend you to wait till your ITA is close to expiry (around 80 - 85 days) and then submit the e-APR.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply! May I clarify though..does it mean that this is the official link for making payment? It is a bit confusing why there are different links to make payment though they are both under the Canada website?
I am not sure why there are different links. However, I have seen quite a few applicants who made payment through that link.

We have had our PR application in for 5 months through the EE Canadian Experience route.
Our status board on MYCIC shows medicals passed and couple of others in progress. On the 23rd of Dec we got out 'Final Request' email. They request passports/or copies of (depending on which country you're from) and larger passport style photographs.
I promptly returned them by express post and they received them before the new year......
My questions are.....
Is this the last step?
Yes.
If so, how long until PR is granted?
Depends on the VO. Anywhere from a couple of days to a month.
and am I allowed to work for another company before I officially land, currently on a closed permit? (leave/return to Canada)
Apparently, NO. Check this. Your new employer has to file a new LMIA if you want to work for them.
I only ask as I am being offered a new job, and the employer is keen for a start date
Once you receive your passports back with visa/COPR, you can activate your Permanent Residence by "landing". Once you are a PR, you are free to work for anyone you want.
Any advice would be gratefully received
Many thanks

Hi Raj,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I have few more questions in this regard
1) Is state clearance also required along with FBI?
2) I spoke to 2 consultants just now and one of them said a soft copy of the certificate would do as it needs to be uploaded and I can take a print out if required. Other one said both will be required. Any idea about this?
3) Hopefully I will be travelling to UK at the time of getting an ITA. Would I need PCC from UK as well in that case , since my current residence would be UK at that time( less than 6 months though)
Thanks in Advance
Hi Raj,
Need advice on the PCC file that I uploaded. For my spouse, the file I uploaded contains a black and white copy of the original plus the certified translation. I just noticed on CIC website the requirements for colored scanned copy. Can you please advise if this will cause rejection and shall I file CSE? or should I not worry about whether the file has colored or black and white copy? thanks
11th Jan 2017
Number of invitations issued CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited
3334 459
Think it would go beyond 450 in next draw ?

How long has it been since you submitted your application? I'm asking this because if you have made it past one month post AOR, your R10 might have passed.
However, since it is EXPLICITLY mentioned on the IRCC website, if I were you, I'd probably go for that CSE.

Thanks Raj. My AOR date is 07 December 2016, so just over one month now. My application status for documents says "No additional Documents needed at this time"
Am freaking out! What should I explain in the CSE? shall I say it is my error? and if they accept my explanation how will I provide the colored one?

Hi all
Such a helpful thread!
Im wondering however if someone can throw some light on my issue.
I was rejected last night and i think the reason being was that i ticked "no" to the question regarding verifying qualifications.
I assumed you could do this post creating a profile, alas it seems not.
I can't see a problem with any of my other information to be honest.
All my language test results are 7.5 or above, i have a degree, a good amount of money, have been perm employed in London for 5 years etc.
Does anyone have any experience of this problem?
thanks
Sam

Do you mean you answered NO to the question "Does XX have an ECA for XX degree"?
Thanks Raj
Most of what you said is what I suspected..... but great news on the timescale, as things should work out fine
Many thanks

Thanks Raj...+1 for you
Guys sorry for being off topic. This is kinda urgent.
I was going through my EE profile today and I noticed, there is a question that have your ever applied to IRCC before? I have answer NO, when infact I did apply for student visa back in 2006, but got rejected.
If I slect yes, it asks me UCI number which I don't have.
Please help me how should I go about it.
Thanks
