Hi all,

Could you please help me with finding out when my 2 years work experience is complete? Below are some details about my situation. Thanks in advance.

Education: bachelor of engineering from Canada.
Status: Post Graduate Work Permit
Job 1: from 20 October 2014 to 31 December 2014
Job 2: from 05 January 2015 to present.
Both jobs were held in Canada with minimum 40 hours/week.

I changed jobs because I got a better offer from another employer while I was doing job 1. Two weeks before the start of my job 2, I informed my employer at job 1 with my intention to leave the job on 05 January 2015. But the employer said because Friday 02 January 2015 was a non working day at our office (on that week we would work 9 hours per day from Monday to Wednesday and 8 hours on Thursday so that the Friday would be off=35 hours. On the prior week we would work 9 hours per day from Monday to Friday=45 hours. 80 hours over two weeks.) and Saturday and Sunday are weekends, it does not make sense for them to keep me employed on those days given that I no longer wanted to work for them. So my last day at work was on 31 December 2014.

I started my job 2 on 05 January 2015 and I have been working since then.

In my Express Entry profile my first job start is set in October 2014 and end is in December 2014. the second job start is in January 2015 to present.
On 01 September 2016 my profile was automatically updated and my work experience points were increased to equivalent of 2 years. My totals score right now is 466.

Question 1. On what date the two year work experience is achieved?
Question 2. If I receive an ITA before that date with the current 466 points, should I accept the ITA?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Does that mean that IRCC is allowing the following to happen?
Scenario: min draw score 480. number of draws 1500.

Case 1: A candidate receives an ITA with total score of 480. But the candidate 2 years work experience would be complete only after 10 days of receiving the ITA. There are at least 15 other candidates in the same situation.

Case 2: A candidate has two years and 2 months of work experience. The candidate's overall score is 479. There are at least a few other candidate in the same situation.

Outcome: out of 1500 ITAs issued, those 15 ITAs issued in case 1 were rejected because they did not have their 2 years work experience complete and their points should have been equal to that of 1 year work experience. IRCC rejects their application. If the draw had been conducted with exclusion of those 15 candidate of case 1, then the candidates of case 2 would have received an ITA with a score of 479.

Isn't that causing inflation of the minimum required score at each draw?

Currently the system calculates points in months instead of number of days. They need to have some validations in place which would attribute points to applicants based on actual completion of year(s).

Well if say this flaw causes 15 applicants who accepted an ITA to be rejected in each draw, then IRCC will fall behind in achieving their target for the year.

My guess is they allow for some tolerance in calculating years of work experience.

IRCC sets up the form for the applicants to enter their information. If the form requires month and year of job start date that means this is all they need to know.

If an applicant who started his job on 20th if a given month and follows the logic people discussed in this forum and decides to reject the ITA, then the draw system is not able to achieve its set targets.

In a different approach, using the same logic, if an applicant decides to advance the start date of their job by one month to compensate for the a apparent system flaw then they are actually misrepresenting information.

I think neither cases are okay.

You are wrong. IRCC is very picky about the dates. People on this forum have been rejected because they only had 1530 hours of work experience, rather than the required 1560.

I don't think the Living in Canada tool has any affect on your application. Especially since it does not ask you for your name, or any form of identification (like EE profile number), so the answers are not in any way linked to you.

Hi guys,
I have sent my profile twice for express entry (with two different GCKey) and get always "your profile is ineligible".
I meet the minimum requirements: I have CLB 7 French level, NOC 0213, more than 6 years (continuous) full-time working on this NOC, my study certificate was asset on WES-World Education Centre (ECA), I have 26000$, any clue why I have received profile ineligible twice?

Thanks, regards,
Daniel

Go through the point allocations for FSW: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp
If you score under 66 points, you're not eligible.

Actually you don't upload forms in eAPR, all the information which is needed in these forms has to be filled in online application and at the end you will be shown a page for required documents for this application. If they come across anything which is fishy or want to understand then they may ask for specific forms.

Hi Guys

I have been trying for a week now to get my application for a BOWP filled in online, but the system shows an error.....

When I log into my CIC account and start to fill in the 'are you eligible' questionnaire (need to do this to get a ref number) I get halfway through, and it says I maybe eligible, I then click to proceed to the next part, presumably filling out a profile, it comes up with a system down/error

I have logged a technical issue on the website and called CIC but they don't seem very helpful

Any suggestions? Print out a paper copy and post it?

Many thanks

Ben
dont use paper copy :)

try using a different browser or clear the cookies/cache from existing ones... personally i would try using a different browser first.
