When you say visa, do you mean to apply for Permanent Residency through Express Entry. You need to write language tests and have your education assessed. If you don't want to include your wife as accompanying and maybe receive more points with her scores, then she doesn't need those two things.

Hello,

I am searching for some guidance on the process of withdrawing the PR application.

I have an ongoing PNP PR application currently in progress with IRCC.

And I have another EE PR application that got approved (CoPR) a week ago. I am waiting for the PR card now.

So I am looking for any help in letting me know the process for PR application withdrawal.

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
Unfortunately I have gone through trying to create an EE profile over 8 times but still scoring zero and the other scores also return zero despite having over 67 points. I need help!

I posted to you on Friday. In your profile, you say you have a job offer so are you in Canada and on what type of permit.

Sorry I did not see it. I am outside Canada but have been interviewed and offered a job
So your employer needs an approved LMIA. They need to pay the fees, complete market assessments and show that a Canadian or PR could not be hired, and that hiring you will allow them to hire more Canadians. The job offer must also state that you have a full-time, permanent job for one year following PR. Once you have the LMIA then you can say you have a job offer. Until you have an approved LMIA or an approved LMIA exemption, you don’t have a job offer.

If exempt, your employer still needs to undertake all the paperwork. How is it exempt?

Hi All

I received an ITA in December 2020. Post this, I completed my medical and biometrics (after receiving the BIL); My query is, can I quit my current job, without any repercussions/effect on my application?

In my application, I had mentioned this particular employment under the 'Employment' tab. The start date thereof was May 2017 and there was no end date, as when I submitted the application, I was still working in the same company. I am now planning to quit the said job in the next 2 months.

Please Advise!!

If you you have enough work experience I.e full time 3 years (same NOC) then you can resign form your current job.

However, my advice is don’t quit as they will take long time (almost a year) to process due to COVID. So, try to earn more before you get PPR request.

Hi Guys,
Could anyone of you please assist me as I am planning to process my Canada PR application.
My concern is : I joined the organization as a Management trainee after my post grads and was getting the stipend amount during those 6 months ,also PF amount got deducted during that duration. And now I have trainee exp certificate of 6 months. But as I got into payroll after 6 months,I am getting the on-job effective date of (after 6 months) in my work experience letter ; which is something got considered in my current job(when I switched my job).
I would like to know- Should I add my training period experience in my Work Experience details under Express Entry or not ? What would be the best way ?? And if not, then will that period consider as a gap after my masters ?
Looking for a response ASAP.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks !! :)

Hi @trushitpatel Thank you for the help! My ITA was in the FSWP - EE category (if it matters in the context); I am planning to take a short break, and resume employment at a different organization (different NOC).

I have almost 4 years experience in the NOC I mentioned in my application.

Please advise!
Thank you.
