UPDATE:
First hand report. I successfully got my PR in January 2019 using India EPFO statement as Proof of fund. Keep in mind that in my case I got a letter from the PF commissioner that the funds belong to me and there is no lien. Also, my entire fund requirement was not from EPF - It was only about 60% of the requirement.

Hi @Amreeta - could you please let me know if they accepted the EPFO balance letter submitted by you and also do they also accept the EPS (Pension) amount?

Thank you @Amreeta - In our case we have submitted a balance certificate provided by Regional EPFO and online passbook statement from UAN passbook page. Is that OK?

Could you please give more details on how this works. I already went to EPFO office and requested them the letter and they straightway denied issuing such letters. All ended at the account section itself and may be if I could get to PF Commissioner, it could have been worked.

I would suggest to raise a RTI (Right to information) to the PF commissioner and get it done. You need to constantly follow up to get it sooner. In my case it took a month to get the letter.
