Hello All,
I hope to get replies from my seniors. I am in the process of preparing my full application. However I have hit a road block. My current employer won't issue me refernce letters listing my daily roles and responsibilities. The have agreed to only give me an employment certificate which gives the start and end date of my employment. However it must be noted that my current experience does not fall under the list of 38 high demand occupations. One of my previous emplyments falls under NOC 0213 and I have my refernce letter for that experience.
If I send the employment certificate from my current employer and give them the contact details of my supervisor in case they need to verify my employment and duties, would that suffice. Or is it mandatory to get the refernce letters for all the previous employments even if the job description does not fall under the 38 list?
Please help !!

You quote in your post that , the current duties do not come under 38 list , but the previous ones does come under the 38 list. In this case you need to give the Ref letter from the prev employment to prove your eligibility for FSW.
However, you may try to give the emp certi which the current employer is giving which will suffice.
Thank you Seeetberry, I was confused because in other posts in this forum I found that the visa office requires reference letters for all the previous employments. However your post does clear my confusion.

Yes, if you are claiming 21 points for 4 yrs of exp then you need to provide ref letters for all the four yrs of your employment. Ofcourse, you need to prove your eligibility of 1 yr in any of the 38 listed NOCs.
Yes, that is my point. If a provide a letter that only lists my start and end date but does not list my job description for an experience that does not fall under the 38 list. Will that suffice, or do I need the job description as well even if that experience is not under the list of 38 occupations.
If the organization lists my start and end date of employment it will prove that I have worked for that duration and thus I can claim points for 4 years of experience. The refernce letter from my previous empoyer will prove that I have worked for more than one year in one of the occupations listed in the high demand catagory.
Is it ok ?
If you have reference letter proving one year experience in 38 Occupation list you are good as far as eligibility goes
Now I assume that you are counting 21 points for which you will decalare your NOC code. Since points are given for Category A, B or 0 NOC you need to prove that other three years were in A, B or 0 occupation. For which you again need reference letter
So if your total experience beyond your current employer is 4 years and you have refrenece letters for them you are good to go, if not then you will need to prove your job duties for other three years to prove that they fall in 0, A or B category
The first digit of the NOC code identifies the Skill Type of an occupation.
•1 corresponds to Skill Level A
•2 or 3 correspond to Skill Level B
•4 or 5 correspond to Skill Level C
•6 corresponds to Skill Level D
Skill Level A represents occupations usually requiring university education. Skill Level B refers to occupations usually requiring college education or apprenticeship training.
