I am on Closed work permit in Canada and have continuous 1 year of experience in Canada but my employer did not extend my contract after one year but have given me complete 1 year experience letter.
Now I am leaving for my home country. Am I still eligible to apply for PR under CEC category from my home country?

Yes, you can apply from your home country. Please apply asap as both CEC and FSW programs will be closed by this year end and express PR program will start from Jan 2015.

You are eligible to apply till 31th Dec 2014. They are introducing new rules in 2015 ie. express entry i dont know much about it but Im sure they need lots of talented people ...
please check if you have proper dates on your experience letter they should not be less than 1 year and also u should have a vacation which is unpaid and more than two weeks......if your experience letter is fine and all duties and NOC category is confirmed put your file in asap as thr will be new rules in place from January 1 2015

FSW and CEC programs will continue to exist, but the application process will be electronic (woo, 21st century!) and the eligibility will be different.
This is the sub-forum for Express Entry:

Only the applications received in 2015 will come under Express Entry. My reaction was on the Bob456 statement where he wrote that the FWS and CEC will be closed under Express Entry (which is untrue).
