Eligibility to apply for PR under CEC

Hi Experts,

I am planning to apply for PR under CEC category, I came to Canada in May'12 and I am going to complete 1 year in coming May'13.

My current work permit is valid till August'13 which may not extend further hence I have to return back to my home country in August'13 sometime.

Could you please let me know if I am valid applicant for PR under CEC category ?

Does CIC looks for another 1 year employment when I apply for PR ?

If I am going to leave Canada after submitting my PR application, in this case it would be better to give any one of my friends address who is going to live here in Canada OR shall I give my home country address ?

You would be eligible if you are working for a Canadian company here in Canada and you get paid in CAD dollars and if you have your t4 from the last year...


Just find out the noc, ielts, and all other stuff

The key documents if you meet the above criteria are

employer reference letter, police clearance certificate, birth certificate, ielts,

Thanks Honeysingh and yahoo... I am currently working for Canadian company and get paid in CAD. I have my T4 as well from last year and my job classification is NOC-A.

I am in a process of collecting the supporting documents. Please let me know if I leave Canada after submitting my application... would it be better to give communication address of any of my friend who is going to live here in Canada OR it doesn't matter if I give my home country address.

Are you aware that you can now apply for the bridging open work permit while your PR application is being processed? You can't apply unless you have less than 4 months remaining on your work permit but as long as you get it in before it expires, chances are you would get it. That would allow you to stay in Canada while your application is being processed.
