Do I need to write a SOP for extending my study permit?

Hello,

I would like to know if I have to write a SOP for extending my study permit, to avoid having a refuse or something.

And I also want to know if they can refuse a study permit extension application stating that there is no evidence to return to home country after studies. Or it only comes with the first study permit application?

I can only answer your first question which is a statement of purpose would not hurt if you want to strengthen your application.

Not sure about the second question to be honest.

If you want you can add letter of explanation but it's optional. I didn't attach SOP for my study permit extension and i got extension. In most of the cases there is high chance of approval of study permit extension so don't worry about it as along as you are actively enrolled in any institution.

Hi there, did you applied for your study permit extension recently? because my gf has applied on 8th april still no update on it yet (as online it showing they are processing may applications), we have called cic twice but they said she have to wait,they can't do anything, her permit is expiring in July. do you have any idea what should we do? thanks.

Yo, No I am waiting the CAQ.. It's been a month for me and I have not even received a document reception confirmation..

Looks like everything takes time now .. Forget about what they show on processing times table. Just wait and you will hear news in a cpl of days.
