I have my COPR letter and will land Canada this weekend. But I need to wait for another period for the PR card to arrive while I can also apply for the SIN with my COPR letter. Can I start looking for job after I got my SIN? Or I need to wait till I get my PR card? THanks!
Looked this up actually, by law you only need the number. Some employers might ask for it, just tell them you just got here and can show them the actual card later if they still needed.
They'll fill out your COPR and let you sign it and have you keep it. You would need your COPR to apply for a SIN, open a bank account, apply for health insurance, driver's license, etc. It would be your proof of being a PR while you still don't have your PR card.
Regarding going out and back without a PR card and just a COPR, I think it's possible, I'm just not sure how much of a hassle it would be, since the airport (Toronto Pearson) has only 2 entry lanes: "PR Card holders/Citizens" and "Visitors/Non-PR Card holders."

@browntrout Can you please give the link where this is mentioned? I have been reading up on it in order to send this to an employer. However I haven't been able to find the link with that information.
