This is Rana from Pakistan. I was deported from Canada as failed refugee in Jan 2011, and my Canadian born wife came to Pakistan and we got married. Now she have housing from Ontario housing and she is also on disability.
We are looking to file sponsorship in Oct. I still have to repay my removal cost. Do i need an ARC?
and should i apply for ARC before my sponsorship or with the sponsorship?
If we repay removal cost in Canada its $1500 but if we pay it here in Pakistan then its only about $1100. Is it ok to repay it here? and submit the receipts along with the file in Canada?
I am also looking to apply for visit visa to join my wife and her family on Xmas. where should i start from?
Can u please guide me step by step. and any tips to speed up the sponsorship as they are taking 26 months from Canadian embassy in Pakistan
best regards

Yes - you will definitely need an ARC. You should apply for sponsorship. CIC will realize that you need an ARC and will process the ARC as part of the sponsorship application.

Given you need an ARC to return to Canada and are a failed refugee claimant, I see zero chance that you will be approved for a visit visa at Christmas.

You and your wife should submit the sponsorship application as soon as you can to get the process started.

how about the ARC fee? Should i pay it before or wait till CIC asks me to pay it. and how about repaying the removal cost?

You should wait until CIC asks.

yes wait till CIC asks for the arc fee, because sometimes they ask for just a fee and othertimes they ask for a fee and letter.

thanx, how about my visit visa? they should allow me to join my wife and her family on xmas. i didnt committ any crime. i was shipped back coz of my stupid lier immigration counsel.
my wife is sick and is on disability, nobody is available to take care of her. and her life is so hard without me.
any suggestions for visit visa and faster immigration?

its already been almost 2 years since i am here in my home country. and my wife have free housing from Ontario social housing and have disability. we have all kind of proofs. we talk 3-4 times everyday.

You can apply but like the poster above said , you won't get a visit visa they don't care about your personal story, you were deported, simple as that.

i am married to white canadian wife and her family have served in Canadian army and are well known in Canada and very very respected family

I guess its not so hard to see who is very very desperate to get into Canada ehhh...

It doesn't matter. Everyone in Canada is treated equally regardless of ethnicity. Being in the military or from a well respected family does not mean you receive preferential treatment.

The best thing you can do is submit the sponsorship application as soon as you can. You are not going to be able to visit for Christmas due to the deportation. Sorry.

These things mean nothing in Canada, all are equal before the law. She could be the prime ministers daughter and you would still be refused.

Immigration officers abroad are not stupid, the fact that you married a woman outside of your culture after being deported will raise red flags, they will think you are marrying just to get back into Canada, expect your case to face extra scrutiny.

It will probably take longer than 26 months and there is no guarantee your ARC will be approved.

Personally I think your case is not genuine, you are just marrying for immigration reasons and the officer abroad will see that.

my wife loves me soo much thats why she came all the way to pakistan, and been sending me money and her mom been supporting me the whole 2 years ever since i got kicked out of canada. its not fake marriage. and we do have all the proofs and stuff.

It's not her that the officers will suspect, she may be genuine. However it's your motives which seem
suspicious. Soon after you were deported you married a disabled women from another culture, that raises huge red flags. I think it's obvious you're just using this woman to get back into the country and you will dump her the first chance you get, immigration officers know this. Expect a long hard fought case.

What the other posters are writing is correct.

if you apply for a visit visa along with the arc the chance to get approved is zero to none. and if you apply for an arc before your permanent residence it will make getting your PR very complicated, because the arc is also being looked at with your application.

I would highly suggest not doing this, unless you want to risk getting your permanent resident application delayed and causing a huge headache.

it will just make things more difficult.

my husband will need an arc to and he was suggested by our consultant not to ask for an arc untill cic requests it. because it will get denied for a visit visa and mess alot of things up.
