i expected people to say the test invite is unbelievable, i would have thought so too, part of me still thinks they made a mistake and forwarded me an invite meant for someone else. I guess i'll find out on the 26th when i log in and attempt the test. i don't need anyone to believe it, i was sharing here because i thought that is what we were supposed to be doing.
i will try to answer some of the questions i saw regarding what may have sped it up. I do not know. I did not request urgent processing, i do not plan nor need to leave the country anytime soon. I have visas to most countries i want to visit in my home country's passport so if i need to i can use that. in my application, i included my past 3 years of NOA and my full passport scan even if it was not required. I attached it in the spot for other documents. I did travel during the past 3 years but very minimally, i was busy going to school and establishing a life here so had no time to leave the country. i do not work for the government, i work for a private immigration law firm. No i cannot see the application on ecas.

Online app submitted: December 4, 2020
AOR received: February 3, 2021
Invitation for online test received: February 23, 2021 (online test dates: February 26 to March 18)
so received an email last feb 9th with an attachment with details below:
“This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for Canadian Citizenship. We will review your application and supporting documents and will contact you if additional information is required.”
My question is, is this what you got before you got the invitation to take the test email?
TIA

I just spoke with call center agent. She had no clue about online citizenship applications option.she couldn't find my application. She said apply paper based .I think she was not aware of online option. I think online submitted applications are stored in a separate database and someone has to move them over to actual system and then only agaents can see it. I think webform is a better way to enquire about status than call center. I am going to ask through that now.
Just got invite for the test too!
Online app: Dec 8
AOR Feb 10
Test period: Feb 26- Mar 19
Email shows CIC Edmonton, weird because I'm in Toronto. But it looks legit regardless. Non-urgent if anyone is wondering

Dont be in hurry to attend the test. Take enough days and give it as we get chance easily only once. Later we dont know when we would get the test/interview and it might take time. So give it few days, give online mock tests and then if you are ready then only give it even if it delays a week/two.
Update: For those who received AOR, you cannot check the ecas status online yet. Agent told me there is glitch in their system(only for citizen apps submitted online) and they are working on it to update ecas status.
I’m sooooooo tempted to send it online but I’m worried about it getting lost in their system Lolol. But over all im very very happy for my fellow forum members that already got their test invites
