Despite submitting my request with the expectation of receiving a link to select a convenient time, I was instead assigned an appointment for January 24th at 11:45 AM. This notification arrived at 11:37 PM India time on 22nd, leaving me with no feasible travel options to attend the appointment.

To add to the difficulty, the email indicated that cancellations or rescheduling are not permitted, which I find both frustrating and highly inconvenient. The lack of flexibility in this process places applicants like me in an impossible situation, especially when travel logistics are challenging.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Earlier date required: Owing to a huge demand for appointments, we will not be able to entertain any request for earlier appointments. You are strongly suggested to adhere to your allotted date and time failing which, your appointment request will be queued at the end.

  • Failure to attend allotted appointment: In an event that you are unable to attend your biometric appointment at the allotted date and time, you will be blocked from requesting an appointment for 5 calendar days. After 5 calendar days, you may raise a new request which will be served on a first come first serve basis.

  • Re-schedule or Cancel Appointment: Owing to the huge demand for biometric appointments, we will not be able to entertain any request for re-schedule or cancellation of appointments. You are strongly suggested to adhere to your allotted date and time failing which, your appointment request will be queued at the end.

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to book the biometrics and medical appointments yet. The biometrics booking was blocked for five days since the PA has missed the appointment on 24th. We plan to try again this Wednesday and Thursday to schedule it.

I submitted my application on December 30th and received my Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) on January 17th. My principal applicant (PA) is in India, while I am in Canada. Could anyone provide me an estimate of when I might receive the Sponsor Eligibility decision?

I'm sorry to read this, but I also think that everything will be fine in the end.
To answer your question, I can only say what happened to us. We applied on December 28th and received the Sponsor Eligibility on January 27th.

Medical request: Not Started
BIL completed: Jan 11th, 2025
Sponsor Eligibility Confirmation; Not Started

Hi, I submitted my spousal application on 20th of December 2024 , AOR received on January 14th , BIL received 21st January and done on 27th , no Medical request yet and PA is from UK , But I am not be able to check online services , it doesn't show anything , anyone else have seen that problem with that online services ?

Has anyone who applied for spousal sponsorship in late December received their spousal eligibility approval yet? If so, how long did it take, and what was your timeline like?
I have been checking ImmiTracker, but I haven't seen much progress there.

Hey guys, I hope everyone is fine.
Application wise it went well so far. I'm waiting for the background check and the Medical Exam to be completed. My appointment in Berlin is set up for tomorrow and I'm soooo nervous that my blood pressure could be out of the range because I'll be super nervous. I have read about people who had to undergo extra examinations because of this.
I'm a healthy person with normal numbers but this is an exceptional situation. On the other hand going through it is all I ca do. But I won't drink coffee in the morning. Has anyone here had experience with the medical exam?

Update Feb 6:
The following tests wehere done:
_Physical (eyes and ears test, blood pressure, weight, heart and lung (stethoscope), checking legs for edema, palpate the abdomen)
_Blood work (HIV, creatinin, syphilis)
_Chest x-ray

It took 3h including waiting time.

It was same for us as well. Three hours, pretty straight forward.

I may depends on where your PA located. I really hope everything works out for you. I am very new to this forum, but if you have any question or need help please let us know. :)

Yes, I guess chandanabanerjee is right and this could be a factor, next to the complexity of the application, or how time consuming it is to communicate with the administration of the home country of the PA etc. There are so many factors in the game. I wouldn't worry too much.

It's true, everything went pretty fast for us, but it does not mean it will go on like this. For example, my partner and I were traveling together to a lot of different countries during the last decade, and maybe it will slow down my background check. Who knows, all we can do is sit and wait.

Fingers crossed for all of us.
:)
