My spouse PR application has been submitted since April 6 2020.yet receive approval. Application is showing criminality and security in progress. Contact Mp. MP follow up still.
What can done?

Applied on 11.12.2024 and so far got AOR on 07.01.2025.

My question after AOR should I expect the sponsor approval letter? I am in Quebec and I can only apply for CSQ if I have the SA letter. Anyone with info about this please share.

Thank you.

Hello everyone
I applied for sponsoring my spouse (outland) on Dec 2nd and on Jan 17th, medical was completed/passed, previously biometrics were completed, sponsor and spouse eligibility was completed, pre arrival letter was received. Currently, tracker is showing Background verification 'In progress' and medical, biometric and eligibility as 'completed'.

Can you please guide how long background verification usually takes and are there any other steps?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Yes, I am grateful for the fast processing.

I am curious to learn whats incorporated in Background verification process? We have provided police certificates from different countries, does it include verification of those certificates and an additional advanced check of someone's background?
Thanks

background check is long especially if you have travelled or lived in different countries .. so yes they will check all of those

Geeze, does this mean that every country we have traveled to in the last 10 years will be checked? That will take forever.

I have a urgent question. We just got our Biometric letter.

We weren’t aware that the time slot would be automatically assigned, and we just received an email stating that our appointment has been booked for 24th January. PA is in India. So basically its almost 23rd there. Unfortunately, this short notice makes it challenging for ur to travel as its in a different state. We just have a day to reach there seems imposible at this point.

We noticed in the FAQ section of the email that if we cannot attend the scheduled appointment, we can request a reschedule after five business days. We are considering this option but wanted to get your input on whether rescheduling might have any negative impact on our application.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could provide guidance on this matter at your earliest convenience.

i'm not sure about such "automatic appointment" in India
however, i don't think rescheduling it will impact whatsoever to your application
in any case, you don't have any other choices to start with, do you?

Despite submitting my request with the expectation of receiving a link to select a convenient time, I was instead assigned an appointment for January 24th at 11:45 AM. This notification arrived at 11:37 PM India time on 22nd, leaving me with no feasible travel options to attend the appointment.

To add to the difficulty, the email indicated that cancellations or rescheduling are not permitted, which I find both frustrating and highly inconvenient. The lack of flexibility in this process places applicants like me in an impossible situation, especially when travel logistics are challenging.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Earlier date required: Owing to a huge demand for appointments, we will not be able to entertain any request for earlier appointments. You are strongly suggested to adhere to your allotted date and time failing which, your appointment request will be queued at the end.

  • Failure to attend allotted appointment: In an event that you are unable to attend your biometric appointment at the allotted date and time, you will be blocked from requesting an appointment for 5 calendar days. After 5 calendar days, you may raise a new request which will be served on a first come first serve basis.

  • Re-schedule or Cancel Appointment: Owing to the huge demand for biometric appointments, we will not be able to entertain any request for re-schedule or cancellation of appointments. You are strongly suggested to adhere to your allotted date and time failing which, your appointment request will be queued at the end.
