Hi everyone,

We submitted online on Dec 29
Received email (sponsor) on March 17 including ICU and File #.
We've created the GCKey acct, along with the PR Portal account. I couldn't link the gckey to the app...

I received the AOR on March 17th and I wasn't able to link my application as well. Let me know if you find any other way to check status or link application

hey Guys, I just wanted to ask if having an extensive stay out of canada can cause my application to sponsor wife and kid to be denied? I recently got a job this year afer I returned to canada to show proof that I can sustain them while here in canada, and I have always maintained a Canada home address all the time I was away (over 365 days) also. Do I need to worry or I can proceed with the sponsorship application.

I am on the same boat as you, I have a residence in Canada but primarily stay in States. I am yet to receive my sponsor approval

When ircc says mist be resident in Canada, they mean physical presence. Short trips abroad okay.

If you're primarily resident in USA, they might well refuse or delay the application (indefinitely).

Hi everyone. Submitted for partner outside Canada in December 2021 and got an email today that our status had been updated. Checked on the portal though and it still just says "submitted" with no updates. No AOR and no notification of things missing. Has anyone had something like this happen, and is it possible it takes time to reflect on the portal?

The portal where you submitted your application won't show anything about your application. You have to sign up for the new tracker and/or the GCKey. That's where any updates will show.

I'm confused. I haven't seen anything about how to do this and when signing up for a GCKey it doesn't show any applications. I also tried to use the tracker but it won't let me do that without an AOR

I submitted the application on Dec 31, 2021 and PA got an email today that there's an update. Nothing in the PR portal/tracker as well. I guess it takes 24 hours to show in the account?
