Hey everyone, it seems like de OWP mistake (telling people they don't meet criteria when they actually had valid status at the time they applied) has being happening to many Oct/Nov/Dec applicants. If you are in the same situation you can join this thread https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...ing-eligibility-criteria.684678/#post-8585760 So we can advice each other in our communication with IRCC regarding our OWP applications

My application for spousal arrived to Mississauga office on Friday December 6th. Didn’t apply for open work permit as she currently has one. I only put the barcode pages front only for the forms which has, I didn’t put all together, hopefully not a big deal.
Also did index cover for my supporting documents to make it easier, and also included cover letter as advised by my friends who are immigration consultants.
@Vendi is not necessary to include a cover letter. I did not include it likewise some other applicants but just fill organise your documents according to the checklist instructions on IRCC websitehttps://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5289-sponsor-your-spouse-common-law-partner-conjugal-partner-dependent-child-complete-guide.html#obligations
Put them like that in the big mailing envelop from purolator, DHL, Fedex etc whichever mailing delivery company you want to you. I did mine like that and my application was received 30th December, 2019 and I linked both my OWP and PR application February. Meanwhile I extended my stay in December 31st, 2019. IRCC requested for my temporary stay extension medical exam 8th march, 2020. I did it and passed my medical exam on the 15th March, 2020 and my extension (visitor's record) was approved. I used the IRCC webform to send the upfront scanned copy of my medical report with my PR application number to IRCC so I don't get to do medical again for my PR. IRRC replied that they received it and has forwarded it for consideration. Although is e-medical so IRCC should see it online that I passed the medical since applications are synchronised online especially when you have a UCI number. Best of luck
Hi, My application received on dec 31 2020, applied spousal sponsorship. but did not put an application for OWP, since my spouse has OWP till end of July 2020. Due to Covid-19 application process is very slow. now iM worried that my spouse OWP will expire before PR approved. So, now i want to apply for OWP. how can i apply now? is it the application IMM 5710E i fill? i assume fee will be $255. what are the other documents should i keep it with? where should i send the application? is it edmonton office or mississauga (same as pr spousal application)? in the application form the number 3 question is confusing , 4th option is different than the application guide. I, confused which option should i choose? please help me. any little information much appreciated. Thank You.

Hi guys,
Today 21st April, 2020 the IRCC approved the OWP of the last date of November 29th, 2019 applicants. December applicants should be ready next because they should be getting their approvals henceforth I guess our time has arrived. Look at the November threads for confirmation. Wishing all of us December, 2019 applicants good luck

My application was received December 2nd 2019, so HOPEFULLY will get OWP approved sometime this week. I saw that one December applicant with same dates already had their OWP approved yesterday so....FINGERS CROSSED!
