Don't think so, 4 of my friends who applied as family around Jan 2020 and Feb 2020, got their test invite and decision made.
I applied as a single in Dec 2019 and it is still in process.

The interview has always been a standard step for the citizenship grant process, even before the online tests. When you went in person for the test, the interview would happen right after. It’s done for language testing, and identity/information verification.
Getting a little nervous, submitted my application December 2019 and it's still in process. I have to be in the UK by June 2nd to start my 5-year residency towards a settlement status =/. Do you definitely have to be in the country for the test? Has anyone tried using a VPN? (I'm gonna guess the government checks that though)

I feel you. I honestly want to leave Canada also and the Citizenship is the only thing holding me off. And yes you do have to be physically present in Canada for both test and Oath
