Hi guys, just want to ask "the letter they gave me that I am approved to sponsor also stated that my families form has been forwarded in Manila for further processing", is that a file transfer?
Anyone applying for a visitor visa or a work permit for their spouse?
i know, it is not a good idea to do that.
But now lots of people are bringing their wives in visitor visa.
I don't know if you can apply for work permit for your spouse if you are applying outland. My husband is a Canadian and he is sponsoring me and we just applied for my visitors visa and currently waiting for the decision from CIC. So, yes your wife can apply for visitors visa.
My wife and I submitted our outland application on the 4th of January and it came back today on us. My wife is living with me here in Canada as a visitor and we submitted the form listing her mailing address as in Canada. Today we received the application back with a statement highlighted saying:
"A correction to the mailing address specified on the Generic Application Form to Canada (IMM0008) to reflect the mailing address of the Principal Applicant; or, if the Principal Applicant wishes to have correspondence mailed to the address specified, a complete and signed Use of a Representative form (IMM5476) is required for the authorization of release of documents and information to the individual residing at this address"
Has anyone had a similar experience? How was it resolved?
Your wife need to use her residential address (country of origin) because she is just visiting Canada and not a residence yet so she cannot use your mailing address in Canada. This happened to my friend and her application was returned twice because she used her husband's address in Canada. Hope this helps

I don't think this is correct information. There are other threads on this forum that state differently. It's okay to put the Canadian address as the residence & mailing address and it is okay to say that you are "living" with your partner/spouse. To CIC they understand that some couples are living together. There is even a question on one of the forms that asks if you are living together.
Now when you are crossing the border you can never tell a border agent that you are "living" or "moving" to Canada because you are only a visitor.

Here is a link to one of the threads with info on this subject.

Luci: Did you get your SA? According to the spreadsheet, you are at your day 8. Just wondering since I'm at Day 6 and according to other members, some have received their SA at day 7.
So my application got returned today because apparently in the Generic Application Form (Page 2 Contact Information Q1), I mentioned my Canadian address for my wife's current mailing address, as my wife is currently living with me on this address on a TRV.
They said and I quote "A correction to the mailing address specified on the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM0008) to reflect the mailing address of the Principal Applicant; or, if the Principal Applicant wishes to have correspondence mailed to the address specified, a completed and signed Use of a Representative form (IMM 5476) is required for the authorization of release of documents and information to the individual residing at this address."
In this case, should I enter her Indian mailing address?
Request some urgent assistance as I need to rectify and send this application again tomorrow.
