Guys.m new to this forum.i applied on dec22nd.2015.i didn't get my AOR.guide me when l I get my AOR?n processing time is increased from 9months to 17months..for Colombo applicants :'(
Hi. Apparently CIC can now process your application anywhere regardless of the country of your or your spouse's residence. Hence, they don't provide processing times for each visa office because you can't be sure where your application will be processed. However, I am sure that if your application will be processed in Colombo it still will be around 9 months, as you said. Below is the explanation CIC posted on its website.
"Why did processing times information change?
Prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many of our services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means your application may not be processed at the office closest to where you live."
By the way, I sent my application December 21, I'm expecting to get my AOR next week.
According to posts from people who have received SA, it's electronic. Unless you didn't provide CIC with an email address, only then they would send you the letter.
A written confirmation comes when a Decision is made.
Thnx.
They didn't send us nothing yet and Ecas is still not updated with anything.
Is therea chance of returning the application even after the AOR? Its weird why they didn't send anything yet, i meaneven if they more documents they should've let us know right?

There could be a possibility as they are going through your file to ensure all the requirements are met. If there's something missing or if you don't qualify for the sponsorship, then they will communicate it. Have you crossed your days for SA yet?
What does it mean if Ecas says that medical results have been received, but the sponsorship approval has not been completed?
I thought the "medical results received" update would occur only when the sponsor approval has been completed and the local visa office has started processing the PR application?
I got an email saying I've been approved as a sponsor and that my app is being forwarded to London, but ECAS still says "in progress" under the sponsor status. What's going on here?

That is what I thought would happen but it seems that they are starting to attach the medical result to the PR application prior to it being actually processed.
This would actually save some processing time. I just hope that they have already streamlined their current SOP.
