In form IMM 1294e I see question no 7 asks current country or territory of residence & in Question 9 it asks country or territory applying from. This makes me think if I have the option to apply from other country (say my country of citizenship) rather than my current country of residence. Nowhere it is mentioned that I have to mandatorily choose that as my current country of residence. Has anyone does this before?
I ask because my current country of residence UAE is notorious for rejecting applications on the basis of no strong ties due to temporary status of VISA we work in.
Just be honest. Don't lie. You don't want to be rejected due to misrepresentation. Just have a strong SOP and sufficient home ties evidence. You will be good.

Yeah would not. But I have seen candidates from Philippines have been doing it this way for years and have been successfully getting their VISA. You will find a lot of them on this forum testifying the same. They live and work here but put all details of Philippines. It can be a loophole but I think if this arrangement exists then I would want to use it as applying from UAE the VO does not treat your application fairly and refusals are very high no matter what ties you provide or how good your SOP is.
