Confirmation of permanent residence (COPR)

Hi all,

I finally got my visa and landing papers (Confirmation of permanent residence ).

Unfortunately the landing paper (Confirmation of permanent residence ) contains mistake on my birth-date.

What should I do and how much takes time till correct it ?

Anyone had same problem ?

It needs to be corrected. Did it more come with instructions? Or maybe in an earlier email from CIC?

15 days ago they sent me an e-mail for passport request so I sent my passport and they gave me my visa and confirmation of permanent residence paper after receive them from post I realized on confirmation of permanent residence paper has an error on my birth-date, so now I do not know what I should to do !!! How can I correct it.

Did your COPR include a sheet of instructions? Mine did, and it had the steps to follow if there was a mistake on my COPR. What's your visa office?

Re-read the page that accompanied your COPR. It should have specific instructions on how to get your COPR corrected.

No, my COPR does not have any sheet of instructions, could you please send it to me if you have, my visa office is Ankara.

Dang it That's awful! It has instructions on how to land, how to import your goods, etc.. My instructions are for Ottawa though, I'm sorry I don't have them anymore but I think it said something to the effect of emailing the visa office. Have you tried the Ankara thread? I hope someone can help you out!!

Unfortunately we do not know we should contact to which office in Ankara, embassy, Visa office or immigration office in Ankara, also we tried to contact them before for other things but till now they did not replay our e-mails.

That instruction which you are saying is 5 pages ?

When I got my COPR I got a 2 page front and back instructions covering everything...

Here is the part for your issue:

"You must inform us if any corrections are required to the name, passport number or date of birth on the CPR(s). If corrections are required, please return the CPR for the principal applicant and all family members whose CPR(s) were printed at this office, the Case Processing Centre-Ottawa. Note: The CPR for the principal applicant is always required in order to make a change on the CPRs of the family members. For prompt service, please provide a prepaid express post envelop for tracking purposes."

Hope this helps...send it back to the case processing center with a prepaid envelope so they can get the corrected COPR back to you ASAP

Thank you Ravcat, but the problem is my visa office is Ankara and I do not know I should send it back to Visa application centres ( VAC ) or immigration office in Ankara . . . ?

Raise an "urgent case-specific-enquiry" with the visa office that issued your COPR document.
