Hi, this is my problem, I sponsored my parents and they were accepted, they got the immigrant visa and all the papers in my country. They were coming to Montreal - Quebec by Toronto. So when they arrived to Toronto, they showed the immigrant visa and went to the immigration office. The problem is that they gave all the papers to the officer but he didnt give them their confirmation of permanent residence, the only paper they have is the CSQ (certificat de selection du quebec). I don't know if the process has changed but I know from friends that you must get your confirmation of permanent residence and landing papers at the airport.
I have called CIC but they want me to fill out this form to become representative of my parents because they don't speak english nor french.
And also, I just checked their application status online and it says "You entered Canada at the Lester B Pearson International Airport....became a Permanent Resident".
I was just wondering if that happened to any of you guys.
Yes, my parents gave him the COPR form (that is what they got from the Canadian embassy in my country) and they didn't get anything back (except for the CSQ that they already had it).
From my experience, I signed my confirmation of residence (IMM5292) and I also put my initials and they asked me like 2 questions (I applied in Canada) but when I asked my parents if that happened to them, they said that they just signed some papers and gave him my address but nothing else.

Hello Pierre91, this has not happened to me; however, I think I read similar story on the forum awhile ago. The person went back to Pearson airport with passport and other info. and they provided a COPR. It is very easy for your parents and you to complete the form authorizing you to speak on their behalf though and I am guessing a lot cheaper than flying everyone back to Toronto .
I suggest you go to your MP's office and assign the MP's office authority to follow up on behalf of your parents. You should obviously be there to translate for them; however, once that is done, you and the MP can usually take it from there. Good luck!
Thank you very much for the information, do you think we can go to the airport in montreal just to get information ( because i dont think they can get their COPR here) . And does anyone know if nowadays immigration Canada is sending the COPR by mail or probably making appointments ?
