1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 16, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on September 21, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on October 5, 2017.
4. We sent you a notice on December 22, 2017 to appear and write the citizenship test on January 15, 2018 at 11:45 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
5. We sent you a notice on February 26, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on March 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM. It's possible that DM was negative and they are now reviewing the file again? I would expect that you'll see some sort of request via mail or email. (I'm inclined to think they'd send via snail mail.)

My understanding is that a negative decision is followed by a registered letter to the applicant, so it's unlikely to be that (as that letter would have been sent when the decision was made).

I don't know what happened to make this case go from DM to IP, but maybe one of the background checks expired or someone with a similar name got in trouble (so now IRCC is double checking that this is not an application by that person). Some others have reported experiencing something similar, but I've not kept track of their experiences, so don't know how long it took to resolve itself.

Maybe you were up for Oath Invite and they realize one of your background check expire that’s why it went to in process one of the Scarborough applicant back in December had their Oath Invite cancelled because their clearance wasn’t complete and theirs went back to in process you also give IRCC a call don’t think the worst case.good luck
