Isn't the processing time 12 months for 4/6 applicants?

In official it's 12 months but it generally take less than one year, between 6-9 months.

Processing time of 12 months is not average but max time CIC can take based on various factors ... One of my friend got citizenship this spring in just 4 months ...

Hi, I am planning to go for vacation of 1 month in December. My application is in Process. I guess I need to inform CIC for travel in case they arrange the Citizenship Test during that time (chance is less though).
Questions:
1. Do I need to inform them or is it too early to get citizenship test in December for August applicant?
2. If yes, when do I need to inform them?
Any suggestions or experience?, please share. Thanks in advance

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 8, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on September 18, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on September 26, 2017.

Quite happy with the speed knowing that there were a few thousand applications that got delivered to Sydney on Oct 12/13th!

Hi Saddy, can you provide the rest of the information for the spreadsheet- your location, type of application (single/family), days in Canada and when you sent in the application?

Here is my timeline:

I used this form to inform them about my absences and it worked for me:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp
It took about 6 weeks for them to acknowledge it, but I did care more about the fact that I did inform them well in advance so that in case of a test date I could go back and tell them that I had informed them.

It seems, my application status changed to In process yesterday (October 17).
