Haven't been to the other places you've mentioned. As you may know, traveling in China can sometimes drive you nuts, but at the same time bring things into some kind of bigger peaceful perspective. Gives a certain pause, somehow even in the midst of all the hustle... "Anti-insanity," indeed - * of course traveling with princess of this region makes it an experience of a lifetime, no doubt
Ningbo: I've been to nearby Putuo Island many times. You can take the ferry or bus to get there.
Fuzhou: Visit South Shaolin Temple in Putian. Lots of older Gongfu masters practicing and teaching.
Xiamen: A very nice Chinese coastal city especially the part near Gulangyu Island. There are many westernized historical buildings in that island. Great food.
Shenzhen: Places of Interest - Minsk Aircraft Carrier World, Window of the world, Dongmen shopping district (one of the places I used to live). If you have time, perhaps you can cross the border to Hong Kong for Disneyland and more shopping!

Hi everyone
is anyone ever received AOR2 from Beijing lately?
I have no idea if they started working in my case or not ECAS showed app received and medical done.
any answer would be appreciated. thanks
The collective answer is no, no one here has heard anything in over a month or more...
There was a guy in the January forum who had not paid all his fee's and that seemed to delay his application by a couple months he just got his DM a few days ago..
When was your SA date?
my SA came earlier this month, 6th to be exact . I know it's a long journey but still hoping for the best.

good luck everyone!

No, I don't think panic will bring any results. I'm a couple of weeks ahead of you. The only thing we've gotten since SA is AOR2 from Beijing, but that was way back in May... Have you requested any GCMS notes. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp) This will help see what's happening with your application.., and what's
not
I've requested a note about my file, so i will let everyone know where my status is once i receive the email. Just back tracking through the forums I saw that there are still people from January who haven't received a PPR yet, yet i know someone who applied in late February and they've already landed in Canada. So if anyone is still waiting out there i suggest to just pay the 5 bucks and request the update. I've done it for piece of mind.

Hi
Thanks for the tip. I will try that. Would the file type be Sponsorship or Immigration File: Perm Residence?
Also, I have not received AOR2 from BJ, do they always send that?

On this page; https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/requesterInformation - you should select Citizenship and Immigration of Canada - and then either Permanent resident of Canada, or Canadian Citizen (whichever
you are)
The tough part (unless you are in China) is, your spouse must sign the consent form - in that you are seeking the information relating to her application information on file.
With regard to the AOR2, my wife received that via an email..., I've heard that some (it seems the ones who both live in China..?) haven't been getting the AOR2 - doesn't make any sense, of course. One guy even reported receiving the Passport Request from Beijing within two weeks of SA last May, and hasn't heard from them since - or at least he hasn't reported anything since I last heard
The signature is simple enough as I am currently living together with my wife in China.
As for AOR2, I listed my email as my wife's representative so I should be getting it. But it's been months and no words on that yet. It is a little comforting knowing not everyone gets AOR2. Hope it's not lost by the courier!
UPDATE just got AOR2 from BJ .... Dated aug 26, but in the letter the receipt date is June 3rd.

Wait a minute, this letter has the app receipt date as 03/06/2014. This is March 6 not June 3rd! This is the original date of receipt in the first AOR I got from Mississauga.
Does that mean the 8 months count down starts from the date of this letter (Aug 26) or the Mississauga receipt date (March 6) or some other date when BJ receives my package (not even listed) ?
What dates are listed on your AOR2? I'm confused.

Are you sure the letter is from the Beijing Embassy?
Not from Mississauga? What about the dates on the envelope are then postmarked in Canada or just China?

The letter is from BJ for sure, I don't get physical copies cause I gave them my email. It's all PDFs.
What dates does your BJ AOR have? It cant take 4 months to get from Mississauga to Beijing!
Letter 1 to Me:
From Citizenship and Immigration Canada (Mississauga)
Date: April 24, 2014
Content: Confirms Application for Sponsor has been received on March 6, 2014
Letter 2 to Me:
From Citizenship and Immigration Canada (Mississauga)
Date: April 25, 2014
Content: Met requirement of eligibility as a sponsor, Application fr Permanent Residence has been forwarded to BJ.
Letter 3 to My Wife:
From: Embassy of Canada (Beijing)
Date: August 26, 2014
Content: This will confirm that we have received your application for permanent residence in Canada on 03/06/2014.
Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the immigrant category in which you have applied currently require approximately eight (8) months to process at this office for routine cases.

I still don't have Beijing AOR. but on Ecas it does list the application received date from basically day one in the Applicant side. Don't get too bent out of shape about the 8 months. that's the time 80% of applications are completed by so most are finished earlier. Hopefully that time is from "day one" but I think its supposed to be from the AOR2 letter. In the past it seems most people on here once they recieved AOR2 from Beijing things moved very quickly as long as there were no problems and all fees were paid... You're right about it not taking 4 months to get there, but we suspect it sits in a box ordered by date received in Beijing until they are ready to begin looking at it. You will probably get another email this week saying they have begun working on your file.
Yay, maybe the minions have returned to work.
