Shoot...you should've just sent it by courier (dhl)...you can get the credit card cancelled...

i figured it was registered mail and would be fine, DHL costs 4x more than registered canada post...yah but that wouldve been safer possibilty....but they can also open DHL or fedex there's no guarantee that they wont isnt it?

Yeah, my husband sent a document once and they took $100 for one stupid page:s
Or the long procedure would've been, opened a dollar account here, transfered funds (ebanking) from that account to this account and taken a debit card from the desi account...I guess, I mean, Im not a banker but thats what I would've done:s

i got all these options already, im sure it's a no-brainer to anyone living in canada!
i waited for this piece of mail untill last day before i flew to pakistan and it didnt arrive, so i had no option but to have it mailed to me...cancelling aint a big issue for me or someone using it fraudulently..my concern was that it should get to me safe and in one piece so i asked around on this forum if anyone had a similar experience in the past..

Yes they do open dhl too! They opened my valentines card...I was so pissed! Not that it had anything but still!

I would wait till Friday since it would be 3 weeks and if you still don't get it then just cancel it...

My Fedex package was opened and checked when I sent CIC reqsted docs to my hubby's lawyer backhome from here...the custom held it for 3 days and they went thru the papers...there were no CDs, cards or anything crazy in there but still they went thru..over all it took them 2 weeks to deliver..when it should have been 3 days

If you have the credit card number, you can call the credit card company and ask them if it was activated recently, this way you can relax for a bit and then if you don't get it by friday, cancel it.

Well there you go, you got your answer then. You can take short vacation may be 2 weeks, but if the immigration finds out about it, they can refuse all the PR applications that you have sponsored

why cant a PR take more then 2 week vacation?

PR is not allowed to leave canada at any point while the sponsorship application is being processed... period!!
forget abt taking a two weeks vacation...
