Our status changed the day we got our Passport. So while I was checking the status online early morning in bed my wife calls me up with the news of receiving the passport. Good timing i guess

I didnt have a File number. and was unaware I even needed to request it. one of the members on the forum brought up the concern. Just sent an email to ISL to request for it.

Well you need the file number just incase you want to send any correspondence, updated contact info, visiting proof and all that, and as Danny mentioned before they used to send out AORs but they stopped doing that so people have to email them to get the file number. They should now have your file created since it has been about 3 months. The million dollar question is are they going to reply to your email? I have noticed if you email them after 8AM in Islamabad until 4PM they normally reply back the same day. If you do it at night time sometimes they ignore it.

They used to have the file number on the AOR letter they used to send till Sept/Oct 2010. They stopped sending AOR letters after that. So now people email them to get their Immigration file #. The file # is used to check the status on behalf of the person being sponsored while the Client ID# is for the sponsor to check. They usually have more information on the e-case if checked with the File# (but its not necessary, as a few of us still have "Application Received" even after 6 months of file transfer)

Check your PM for the email draft.

For my wife it still says that even after 16 months...

Guys, please advise your remedical done dates . I m sure there are some members who had done there remedical since march and still awaiting for PPR.

My info is as follow:-

Well We submitted most items original, which we got back as is with our passport. I think the big difference maker was our pictures. We loaded the application with about 200 or so pictures. And I did follow it up with more pictures on my visit to Pakistan something like 50+ or so more pictures of my visit. I never emailed them more than once a month, but yes I did fax any material I had to support my application. For that matter I think I did fax them some pictures over (might have come out black and white at their end). I ran all their doubts into the ground with clear concise information. The CAIPS I ordered the second version of it that is, showed our marriage as genuine and the immigration officer being pretty content with the material we had provided.

And above all my parents prayed hard for us. Which I know for sure saw us through quickly.
Keep it simple and straight with as much details as possible. And yah dont bug them too much.
