After file transfer from Mississauga to Islamabad they create your file in Islamabad yet they don't touch it for a good 9 months for initial review and thats when the actuall process starts.

on the website it says my application is "in process" and that they started processing on "oct 11 2010" does that mean it has undergone initial review?

Nope! Have you received re-requests from them for Police certificate or IMM forms yet? Even though it says in process, it is sitting in their storage room since they have officially created your file. Mine says in process since March 2010 and first correspondence I received from them was in February 2011. Currently they are doing initial reviews to July/Aug 2010 files...

It is most likely that your file is very close to initial review. You will get the request to fill Supp forms soon, may be within a month or so. Right now people whose processing started in Aug are now getting these requests, so you are very close to have your file open for initial review.
