Hi, my question is regarding a sponsorship application.
My husband was living in Europe (I am in Canada) when we sent the sponsorship application from Canada to the Sydney center. We received a response from that center saying I fulfilled the sponsor requirements and the case was sent to Mississauga.
My husband has come to visit me in Canada and we are considering of him staying here in Canada until the sponsorship application is processed.
Is that possible?
Could he change his residency adresse on the application and subsequently send a open work permit to Mississauga? (as if we would have from the beginning sent the application to Mississauga as a spouse living in Canada?)
Thank you for your help.

Wot Canuck said. You have filed outland. If you now want to file inland and file for an OWP, you will have to withdraw your application and start all over again - you can't just 'change' an existing application from outland to inland.
He can wait with you in Canada, but of course as a visitor, cannot work.
Thank you for responding so quickly. That is a shame though, because if this whole process takes 12 months like it says on the cic website, then he cannot work for that whole period of time...

Thank you for answering so quickly. Wish there was away around it so he could start looking for work while the application is being processed...
So is it right to assume that he can travel back and forth from Europe as it is an outland application?
