My wife is on tourist visa in canada and we are planning to file outland application . her visitors status expires in 4 months , and till then i plan to get SA approval in outland sponsorship form . I will file tourist extension after that
My questions are
1)What are the chances of getting tourist Visa extension after her current status expires on outland form . Did anybody did that ?
2)Can we go to some country for 4-5 days and come back to start another 6 months validity period

The application should be inland to be able to be used as a purpose for stay, being outland it makes little sense to stay in Canada. Nonetheless this has been done.
No one can tell chances, it is up to the CIC officer evaluating your case.

You can travel, but it is up to the CBSA officer how much time you would be given if any. If the CBSA officer is suspicious you are trying to cheat then refusal or a short stay conditional to immediate depart from Canada may be given.
Do not try to outsmart Canada. Follow the rules. File your extension.
