Outland applicants chances of Visa Extension

My wife is on tourist visa in canada and we are planning to file outland application . her visitors status expires in 4 months , and till then i plan to get SA approval in outland sponsorship form . I will file tourist extension after that

My questions are

1)What are the chances of getting tourist Visa extension after her current status expires on outland form . Did anybody did that ?
2)Can we go to some country for 4-5 days and come back to start another 6 months validity period ?

Many people apply for a visitor status extension while waiting for PR. Give them proof she has filed for PR when she applies. She can apply online (change conditions or extend stay as a visitor). If she is from a visa-exempt country, the chances are very good to have this approved.


Edit: I see she is from India. You might want to ask on the New Dheli thread what the chances are of her status extension, I know they are pretty hard on those from India.
