To everyone calling IRCC, and staying on thé queue for hours, I'm glad to tell you that it is over.
Kindly click on: https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login to view detailed activities going on in your file.
It gives quite detailed tracker on what has so far happened on your application. What all the "ghost updates" you saw were actually. What activities have been completed and which are in progress or to be started. What all documents have been received, your document expiry dates like medicals etc.
You need to register first, make sure you're entering your information correctly else it will give you invalid error.

It did work for me and shows exactly what an agent would tell me. We finally have a way to track

My background verification is still in progress.

Since when are you waiting for the portal email?

You need to wait for your background check to change to Were Processing then before you will get POrtal 1.In progress meaning they havent started your BG check yet.
Since Jan30 when i recieve GU that my BG check change to Were processing from In progress and the next day I call agent said all pass already and wait for final decision

I called IRCC on 16th January and they informed me that eligibility and criminality were still pending.

I finally had a GU on 2nd Feb - not sure which as I don't check my account everyday. I hope that means something has been cleared.

Anyone in a similar situation? VO as per call was Vancouver.
