I am AOR 25, and I have everything completed except Security, which is in progress. And I have PVO Sydney and SVO Ottawa. I don't think they are just slow, security is a 1 hour thing compared to what they have already completed, I wonder why it's taking so long for this final step. Security has been in progress since Feb 28.

Not sure what you mean by 'security is a 1 hour thing' but officially it can take up to 110 days since Eligibility passed.

Does anybody know what they look at when they are checking security?

I answered yes to it, does it delay things? GCMS notes had review required next to the Stat questions part too...

I know one member of this group (I think @EdithF86 ) had answered yes to one of the stat questions and has review required in GCMS notes. she is also waiting for security to be cleared since eligibility passed on Jan 31

I see too many people getting stuck at Security/Background Check. What is happening, seriously? I thought IRCC reduced processing times from 16 mos to 12 mos? Feels like the processing times are getting worse compared to the previous months.

I think the main reason is their batch processing policy, which is the worst thing.
I have everything completed in tracker since March 3 but there is nothing.
Called ircc on March 13th and got the same old reply, everything is complete and your file is in final stages.
Today i saw an update in tracker, showing march 13 - we have received your enquiry.
Don’t know if its cz I called ircc or something else.

Isn't it kinda too long for batch processing? Like most October and November AORs from Sydney/Ottawa VOs are stuck with Security.

Guys, I just caught a ghost update in my GC portal. Nothing changed though. This is my 2nd GU after 30th of Jan GU. Hope for PVO Ottawa and SVO Sydney gang!! *fingers crossed*

Edit: just realized my background check went back to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information." It previously said it was in progress
