Hi,
I am soon planning to apply for PR under Canadian Experience Class. I am based in Ontario. I have worked 1920 hours as a full-time, independent contractor and 1440 hours as a full-time employee for the same company.
I was working as an Independent Contractor for this company when I had a 1 year Post Graduate Work Permit and later the same company did my LMO and made me a full-time, permanent employee and now I am working with them on a Closed Work Permit.
My IELTS score is 8. Please advise if I can apply for PR under CEC right now or should I accumulate more hours as a full-time, permanent employee.
Thanks for your reply. I was under the impression that now we just need 30hours/week for 52 weeks = 1560 hours.
Also, CIC website doesn’t mention that the work has to be permanent, full-time.
Regards.
"You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week."
I read somewhere that self-employment don't count:
"Note: Any periods of self-employment, unauthorized work, or periods of employment during which you were engaged in full-time study (e.g. work experience gained on a co-op, off-campus or on-campus work permit) will not be included when calculating the period of qualifying work experience. You must have had temporary resident status during the period of work experience acquired in Canada."
