Hi,
I am working as an Independent Contractor (IT related) and so I get paid on cheque and I dont fall into the company payroll. As a result, My work hours are not enrolled under SIN. I know this would effect my status in future when I apply for a PR. Is there a way by which I can enroll my working hours as Independent contractor under SIN.
Thanks in advance.

P.S: I have copies of all the pay stubs.

Unfortunately, being self-employed isn't working for the CEC category. You need to get a T4 (and not a T4A) and your NoA. You should maybe try the FSW category if you have an IT diploma?

I'm not entirel sure what you mean by "enroll working hours under SIN," but if you're referring to employers reporting work hours to Service Canada for EI benefits, companies can only report that for employees, not self-employed.

As marmaht said, you might still be able to qualify under the FSW class, which does accept self-employment, but you have to have very good records.

As for your hours - do you invoice the company or provide some other periodic document/sheet to get paid? Keep all those records...

Working as a contractor.you cannot apply under CEC.you might incase you were getting your payroll generated everymonth with some company but not your incorporation.
