Renewed my OHIP today without an employment letter. Showed the officer my BOWP and told her I had applied for PR. The immigration status on the approved form is "applicant to remain as P.R.".
Did your family get OHIP? Can you please share your experience? I am exactly in same boat now as you were in Oct 2013.
Thanks.

I visited 47 Sheppard Avenue East today for health Card renewal. They renewed my Health card with the
Citizen/Immigration status: "APPLICANT TO REMAIN AS P.R." , but refused to renew for my family.
My wife also got open work permit based on AOR number and my children has visitor status.
They are asking employee letter (full time job) to renew health card for the family.
Mail received from Citizenship and Immigration Canada having file number does not state my family members name. It only address to me. How can I proof that my family also applied for PR and I am the primary applicant.
Yes. We all got the OHIP. So I applied for my OHIP only first time. After one week I visited another center for my family and showed my OHIP. I did not tell last incident. They asked why did not I apply for family members that time only. You can give any excuse. After that they renewed for my family members without asking any question
Thank you very much anni_in for sharing your experience. It is very helpful tip. I will try to do the same and let's see whatwill happen. Thank you again.
