My wife's timeline:
Application by mail received at Gatineau office on September 9
CC charged on September 13
Citizenship certificate returned on September 17.
Tracker Status changed from "We have received your application and are now reviewing it." to “Your passport has been printed and mailed.” on October 12.
Passport home delivered on October 15.
I submitted my first passport application from Canada for delivery to the US via Xpresspost on 10/28. The application was delivered on 10/30.
On 11/12, my credit card was charged and a file number was available. The application status read "We have received your application and are now reviewing it". Today 11/15 the application status updated to "We have received your application and are now processing it".
From what I can tell, it seems that the application steps went backwards? Isn't it supposed to go from processing to review to approved?
I called SC and they said everything looks good and there are no flags or issues with the application at the moment, and it's still within normal servicing time.
I had similar timeline to your application - first passport application from Canada for delivery to the US, credit card was changed on 11/12 and 11/15, application status updated to "We have received your application and are now processing it". on 11/21, application status says "we have printed and mailed it by Canada Post. However, there should be Fedex tracking number assigned to application for delivery to the US.
