Spoke to my MPs office AGAIN yesterday. They said they haven't heard anything back from their status request to Service Canada and they cant speak to anyone directly (which is weird, because other MPs seem to be able to). They said to go in person and request a transfer.
I had already summitted a transfer request the previous week by phone, but went in person anyway as the agent on the phone said it was unlikely they could transfer it. My local passport office submitted a transfer request for me today so hopefully I get a call on Monday or Tuesday with details on when I can pick it up.
Amazing how different everyone's experience is. No rhyme or reasons.
Applied for PP in person at Service Canada on May 13th. No news yet. CC not charged either. What is the processing time these days? No travel planned till September... Though at this rate, September travel looks doubtful too!

I applied in person at a Service Canada office in Mississauga and my CC was charged on the spot, I believe they have to charge your CC at the time of applying, not sure why they didn't do that!

So you went in person to local office to tell them to transfer the file to the same local office? How did the security person let you in or you had a appointment?
Closing my saga out - picked up my passport envelope yesterday from Canada Post.
Curiously, the original Citizenship Certificate wasn't sent along, but on enquiring with the MP's office, they said that it will be 'dispatched later'. So I figure it'll be a week or two more until I get that piece of paper back.

I did talk with my MP and he said that he can't do much except to expedite my transfer request provided I've proof of travel. My application was submitted on 25th of March
What is the requirement for showing proof of travel? I have been away from my husband for more than 8 months now? Is a booked ticket enough or need some other document as well?
Hello all,
I have got someone else's passport in the envelope addressed to me. Very much devastated. After almost 16 weeks, I am nowhere! Has this ever happened to someone else? I have no words.
