Hi
I have Canada PR until Jan'17 and I Stayed short term in Canada and later as for family need I moved to my home country India .
I want to apply my PR Renewal from India by adding my New born Kid in India ( 11/2014) & my Wife
Can i apply renewal from India.
Please suggest
Thank you
You can’t renew from India and you will need to be living in Canada to sponsor your wife’s or child. If you don’t meet residency obligation, you will need to wait 2 years before you can sponsor anyone (and remain in Canada for that time) until you meet RO.
If your PR card expired in 2017, you will either need to apply for a PRTD or obtain a US visa and enter at a land border from the US. If you don’t meet residency obligation you may be reported for RO and they will start the process to revoke your PR status. If you do manage to enter, you will need to remain in Canada until you meet the RO before you renew your PR. If successfully renewed, you can then apply to sponsor your wife and child. Expect to be separated from them for 3 years until the process is complete and they receive their PR. This is, of course, assuming you manage to get through unreported. It could take significantly longer (or not happen at all) with no guaranteed results if you are reported.
