The same problem happened to me. my visa is approved and biometric validity is till 23.05.2024. I handed over my passport to stamp and when I collect it, I noticed that visa is given for only to expire date of Biometric. Could you all please advise what can I do now? Shall I extend my visa? What is the Procedure?

Similar issue for my parents. They provided biometric 10 years ago with a validity until end March 2024 and application submitted in Feb24 and it was approved without BIL and passport was requested. When the passport reached Singapore then it was returned without any visa stamp but with a letter that if biometric is provided then they can proceed.
What I did was I paid the biometric fee (same way you did) for both and raised a webform explaining the situation and attached the receipt. That was in Mid March 2024 and till date there is no update. There was an automated message after few days staring the documents have been received.
I raised on behalf of them and filled the form form sharing information. I did not fill and submit the form ' use of representative'. Is it the reason why they are not bothered? I tried to call IRCC and different agents are responding differently but the main message is that I have to 'wait' but nobody on earth knows how long.
Should I get my parents to raise a webform and clearly ask about BIL?
So just to confirm, instead of raising a webform, even when you have valid biometrics you can select the check box on the form. Then they will give you a new biometrics letter?

In my case, it is for a visitor visa. The only option/question related to biometrics was when the application asked if I had given biometrics in the past ten years (which I have). Same situation as the OP.
Now that I am asked to send my passport, I got another letter saying:

...Please keep this letter for future reference. Your biometric information must be valid for the duration of your temporary stay in Canada...
...However, if you wish to extend the validity of your permit or visa beyond the validity date
indicated above you can provide your biometric information again and pay the associated
fee for another ten-year validity.
No substantial change. Only received an email from cic that ‘rest assured’ we are working on your request and the officer is on it. This was a response to the webform.

Hi, any update? I'm in the same situation like you, i e-mailed them through the web form i got a response informing " the BIL receipt has been recieved by the office who is processing my case, if any additional documents will required they will contact me" last week on June 13 i got the letter with the passport request but not BIL was sent, the old biometric will expire in july 29 , this is really frustrating .Also i want to mention that on February 2022 i also applied for the visitor visa which was approved with the check mark to re-enroll to new biometrics which i paid for and the BIL was not sent too, this is really frustrating with this people.
