Can I apply for my first passport directly in USA?

Given the fair Bill C24 ("Cheat All Immigrants Bill"), I was wondering as soon as I do my oath and pack my bag can I submit my passport for passport directly at the Canadian embassy in the USA or do I have to suffer up to 48 hours more waiting for expedited passport processing?

FYI - You cannot apply for a passport immediately after completing the oath. You have to wait two business days before applying.

'suffer up to 48 hours' suffer? some people suffer and wait for 3 years for the tests and you 'suffer' for 48 hours for passport are you actually serious?

Some people can apply for canadian passport next day after their oath date. No need to wait for 48 hours.
It depend on how fast your record got updated.

If you pay for urgent passport, you might get your passport next day after your oath at one of canadian passport office.

For urgent passport, your guarantor and two references will be called immedietly after you submit the application and pay for the fee. If pass, you can wait for 2-3 hours and get your canadian passport the same day.
