Yes babbar, as far as the existing guidelines is concern, you may do your medical in any part o the world for as long as it is DMP.. You may check from the site what are the DMPs accredited near in your place in India...

what i knew from my friends who finished immigration medicals in india when they were visiting their family was, you have to inform the VISA office your local contact address. They will send you another medical letter of course in a week or two with your local contact address where ever you were,which you will take it to the doctor. I hope this info will help...

mine was received by Visa Office in Buffalo on mArch 25, 2010 and was transferred to Seattle Visa Office last October 25, 2011.... keeping my fingers crossed that before Christmas, we will receive our medical requests (it would be a perfect Christmas gift for us)...
