"not waived" Detroit VO said they are expecting to finalize my application without interview however they keep the right to interview me at any point if needed"
Lanied, did you get any indication from your lawyer about the medical request? Honestly, i didn't expect to receive the visa before the end of this year but i was hoping it would happen early in 2012. In the meantime, Detroit Visa Office should proceed with the review of our files and send us the medical requests. I really hope they will keep the process going in December and we get some updates soon.
anyone have an idea how long from medicals done to passport request? my atty said to expect within 6-8 months. i think that's a bit long. anyone with most recent experience, please share.

I got RPRF and FBI report request today. The letter says interview was waived. But no MR yet....What you guys think, should I do advance medicals or wait till they send something for that?

No change in the ECAS. I don't think i am going to get any updates before the end of the year. I am affraid my expectations of a speedy process after the transfer were to high. I will be checking for updates on tuesdays, but i am just going to relax and enjoy my holidays. As long as there is no line in my ECAS stating "Decision made" i am OK. Detroit Visa Office reserved three months from the transfer date to send any updates. New Year is going to bring all the answers and until then there is nothing i can do, except to stay positive. New visas are going to be allocated for 2012 and i believe this is going to be our year - it will take just a little more time. So, best wishes for everyone, and thank you for your support!

I think you should call CIC to check if they have any updates for you. I went to the immigration office here in Canada, where I live, and the officer there was able to get into the system and let me know that I will get the MR two weeks before I received it. I am not sure how they process they files, but they do not go by the transfer date. Enjoy your time and do not panic. you will get it for sure.
I did call Detroit office, fully aware that they do not take file specific phone calls and are unable to provide any information this way. But i received an e-mail address where i could send my inquiry. I did so and i expect a generic answer about a backlog, processing times and the 90 day wait period after the file transfer. But i will keep you guys posted when i get the reply.
I do realize that applications are not necessary being reviewed based on the transfer dates. It varies depending on the specific case. I applied without the job offer and i am in the USA. I think my case may take just a little longer, but i am optimistic it will happen soon. My observation is that applicants already residing in Canada or those with job offers are being processed before the regular FSW1 category.
Hi All,
