Good to hear. Mines is schedule July 30th and my work permit expires 31st. So just might not be able to go :-[

applied on April 15, still no news

once every month I receive a piece of news, saying

"There have been no updates to your application (W...) since you last checked your MyCIC account. Thank you for your patience."

It seems that the processing of WP application within Canada has not moved for a long time.

So we applied for our bridging open work permits on 14 April 2015, and we received an email yesterday saying our application has been updated so I assume that means they are processing it. I know its probably a couple of weeks before we hear but im excited that we are finally getting somewhere!!

Hi Everyone,

I checked my BOWP status a few minutes ago, and it seemed that mine got approved today.

I applied BOWP online on March 31, 2015, which took me 97 days to get the permit approved.

Hope everyone will get their BOWP approved soon

Hello! Am an April 13 applicant. Received an email last June 23 stating that there was an update in our application. I logged in my account but nothing is changed. Is there an email address that we can send an inquiry to? And, how many updates should we get before the final decision? Thanks!

Same here. I'm April 22 applicant. Yesterday - July 7th received email that my application has been updated. I logged in to my account but nothing changed actually. Still shows Application status: OPEN, Not started, etc..


..and funny thing, comparing to last year:

Applied for BOWP on April 27, 2014 and received it on May 9th, 2014
Applied for second BOWP on April 22, 2015 - still waiting for it

Guys - for the benefit of everyone who are waiting is their BOWP, here are a few things coming from my experience.

Background: I applied on 23rd of March 2015 and got my BOWP approved on 2nd July 2015 after exactly 100 days.

Now when I got it, almost everyone from March was done (2-3 are still waiting), infact guys from April first week were already getting approvals. So I was frustrated, predictably.

• It doesn't matter if guys after you are getting approved while you are still waiting, as long as the "date" of CIC website has not exceeded your date of application. Please note that the "date" is important, not how many days. I called them twice trying to tell them that the number of days mentioned on the website has exceeded for my application but each time I got the answer that they cant look into my file as the "Date" has not exceeded. I know its weird, the date and the number of days never seem to be in sync.
• Even telling them that guys after you have got it doesn't help. The only thing that matters is whether you have exceeded the date on their website or not

Oh and about the mysterious "Your application has been updated" email - well your approval can come from anytime between a few hours to several weeks of getting this email. My case - I got first of these mails on 23rd of May and nothing happened to my application till the 1st of July when I got tsecond such mail. I got approved on the 2nd of July and the pdf was attached to myCIC account on the 3rd of July. I got the hard copy on the 7th of July.

Just to add - there were no additional documents/fees requested from me, so I guess I was just one of the cases where the "date" criteria was religiously followed.

I do not intend to scare you guys, just want to suggest those who are waiting, do not frustrate yourself too much. Its eventually going to come.
