Procedural fairness amendment would have been accepted by the government - if only to save Maryam Monsef!
With more amendments, I have serious concern this bill will be lost in the ping-pong. A very serious blow to Liberal government - and well deserved too - if that happens.
Now , I can assure you , i will all offer you a coffee/tea should it be different , There is NO WAY in any circumstances this bill will pass by May .
The HoC WON'T accept all those changes :
Age requirement , minors applicants , fair process .. who knows what tomorrow and we know now that they will approve all the amendments , whatever they are !
The deal was the fair process amendment . The minister nor any discussions were mentioning about any other changes . They should have amended it at committee level so we would have known already if the HoC wants them or not , once again , they BLEW it .
I think she is extremely nervous As a speaker she must do everything by the book, and it's very likely she does not know all the rules (you can hear an assistant constantly correcting/helping her)

You must realise that the agreement to allocate time for the bill (and thus to speed up the vote on C-6) was not reached simply because cons decided to give up on their position. New amendments will be proposed/voted, but it will happen in a timely fashion.
