Sorry I cannot answer your question, I lost connection towards the end, I am just going by what other fellows are saying here. I will have to read the transcript tomorrow.
I was listening to it, it went too smooth and it was adjourned by senator omivdar, without any resistance. I was shocked

I think it by february will become a law.
Let committee remove the terrorism clause, even if liberals are more, let them make another law for it.
by the way most jobs applications you have to mention if your citizen or not

My bad, here is the list on the website:
7 Conservatives
3 Liberals
2 non-affiliated
......... here: http://www.parl.gc.ca/SenCommitteeBusiness/CommitteeHome.aspx?parl=42&ses=1&comm_id=1047&Language=E
so, with 7 vs. 3+2, basically all the excitement for nothing

Exactly, that is why I do not understand why some are jumping around in excitement here. To me it is a progress towards ending this weak bill and having a stronger one.
You know I have been following this bill for a while on here, and only started commenting the last few months because I got fed up of loads of baloney published here based on pure speculation, yet stated as facts. Based on what fellows here were saying, this bill would have passed nearly a year ago. At first I thought they knew what they were talking about and believed it, but when I read a bit about it, I discovered it was all nonsense. So although I piss off a few when I keep throwing the TRUTH every once and then, I will do it to not give other people false hope.
So for those who think the bill passing on to the committee is automatically an approval, think twice. Conservatives have the majority there, and if the voting will be done based on the present members, we know what the outcome will be!

dont worry,
first, as youve seen that liberals last week they changed the composition of committees and made it neutral
second, if they dont want it to pass , they wouldnt transfer it.
If they want to do the amendments, that will not effect us. it will be for canadian is canadian and language, cons didnt complaint about something else.
finally, minister of immigration welcomed the amendments, I believe by march bill will be approved

Even if it's approved in March 2017, 3/5 won't come into effect until 2018, IRCC won't change the procedures and rules overnight based on the approved bill. They have to go over the standard rule making process and take public opinion on the new rules.

Its not a rule, i believe it will be effective from july 2017
Bill c24 was effective after 1 year because it hurts some people, but c6 will not be harmful for anyone
I guess the committee meetings will start in Feb 2017...
