It is the only option in the cons'hands at this stage , putting this bill to sleep .
If they introduce amendments , it is total chaos for this bill.
Any hopes will be burned

Totally understand your frustration. They take a step forward one day, and three steps back the day after.
Technically, nobody stops them from introducing new amendments for the next 5 years!

I have been following this thread without creating an account for almost a year.
Today I have to create the account just to say that pretty sure this bill is delayed strategically.
IMHO, not until we're close to the next election that this bill will be passed (next election is October 2019), because they need to remind us that thanks to Liberals that make changes, the immigrants can now vote.

Today I have to create the account just to say that pretty sure this bill is delayed strategically.
IMHO, not until we're close to the next election that this bill will be passed (next election is October 2019), because they need to remind us that thanks to Liberals that make changes, the immigrants can now vote.

Except that they need to pass the bill now so the immigrants can actually become citizens and be eligible to vote in 2019!
