Everyone should just wait for spyfy to post his summary.
Also no point in asking implementation dates. No one knows yet! Go and celebrate. There will be more information in the coming weeks.
Fingers crossed for July implementation!
I have a question for SpyFy or anyone who knows.
When will it get Royal Assent? Today? Monday? Tuesday?
I thought this was almost immediate (on the same day).
And when will we know the "coming into force" date for 3/5? The very instant the Royal Assent is given?
What is the process now?
Spyfy has already replied to most of these questions.
There is a Royal Assent ceremony at some point before 1 July that will at this point include also C-6.
After that, IRCC will issue a press release that will likely contain the main changes introduced by the law, and an approximate date for the new provisions to become effective. Some time before that date, there should be another press release to confirm the final official date.

See my post above, I'll post it again, hoping that it won't disappear to fast.

There is a big royal assent ceremony planned before the summer break, where the Governor General actually comes to the Senate in person. He will then take a seat on the throne. The bill will then be brought before him (literally, the physical bill) and he will then nod his head once. That's all it takes.
It's a rather elaborate ceremony that is done about once a year.
This is, by the way, the reason, why several bills are piling up in the "Awaiting Royal Assent" section on Legisinfo. Normally he would just sign them into law, but they are intentionally piling things up for the ceremony.
It's on the first page of this thread. Only change is the following:
- Language amendment was defeated. So 55 is the age limit for language test.
- Procedural fairness amendment was accepted.
- Application for minors was accepted.
That means after the bill becomes law, some parts take effect immediately. The rules you care about aren't coming into effect immediately. Unless you are a terrorist.
