After second reading and some concerns it is back to Senate Committee.

On another note it is not a joke but called "parliamentary proceedings".
Yes. Even progress bar is showing only last two stages are left (out of total of 7). However, there are some very interesting analysis.
If you compare timeline of
Bill C-6 to
Bill C-24 , you'll notice that Senate approved C-24 in 4 days (that's including all 3 hearings) and even bill got Royal Ascent the same day.
Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology took just one single day to publish their report without any amendments.
However if you look at Bill C-6, it came to senate on 17th June 2016 and
it's currently at '2nd Reading' stage reportedly on 15 December 2016. That's almost 5 months and 28 days since it came to Senate (
The entire timeline duration of Bill C-24 including both House of Commons and Senate is 4 months and 13 days ). It was referred to
Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology on 15th December 2016, so lets see how far they can drag it.
ok, so the likely hood of C-6 getting approved by next year canada day is fairly slim i believe..

It will take couple of months to approve.

whats with all the c6 threads on this forum lately?
what do you think about the process that is goin on with the C-6, compare to C-24?
I too am watching and hoping we get some progress on this soon!
Quick question about C-6. My wife graduate from algonquin college here in ottawa and after her studies she had a postgraduate work permit in march 2014 from CIC. She then became a PR in august (2016). if this law comes into affect, does the postgraduate work permit count for the resident time? and if yes when will she be able to become a citizen with the 3/5 rule to apply for the citizenship ?
Hi guys,
I know I sound like a bit of a broken record but does anyone have any updates? Am I right in thinking there was a third senate reading on March 9th?
