I applied on June 19, 2024. Non-EE International Post-Graduate stream. It changed to In-Process in mid-September. Still no update since then. By Monday next week, I should have satisfied the 7-month processing time.

Did you try reaching out to them?

I reached out in November and they told me what I know already that the processing time has been extended to 7 months.

I am planning to reach out again next week because, right now, I am still within the silly unreasonable 7-month processing time. Doyou think I should contact them now?

I guess you could reach out to them post 7-month mark. Not very positive of getting a useful reply but do let us know if hear anything useful.

Hello. I am about to apply for BC PNP, submit my application for a direct stream (no draw). However, my work permit will expire end of August. Would I be able to get support letter in time to extend my WP?
Any insights on this process?
thank you

The current processing time is still 7 months according to their website. But they also explained that by "early 2025" the processing times would reduce to 3 months. With the recent changes in the quotas for nominations, I don't know if that still stands. If it does get reduced to 3 months, you should get your support letter by then, that is if there are no problems with the documents you submitted and they don't ask for anything else. I would reach out to them for guidance on what you can do.

Since there have been no new draws since the beginning of the year, I'm sure we are going to see this "early 2025" changed to "2025". BC does not have new allocations, and it is all stuck until we see new draws with 'normal' numbers.

I hope we are not going to see "early 2026" :(

Do you mean to say BC PNP will not issue nominations soon ?
I don’t know when the program will resume; I hope it will be soon. However, Re-opening of Northwest Territories Nominee Program postponed today. Let's wait news about BC PNP.

There are many applicants with their nominations pending and work permit expiring
As for work permits, the government clearly stated that they hope all people with expiring permits will leave Canada voluntarily. If I were in the position of those whose permits are expiring, I would actively consider extending them through LMIA.

All we can do is hope for the best.

I technically have two years of work experience but I work remotely for a canadian company and had to spend a good chunk of time working from the US and living with family while recovering from major surgery…..so not sure I will be able to get my points past 501 without the PNP nomination.

Is there any way to extend our work permit while waiting for the nomination?
what is your current work permit status?
If your employer has been in process for applying your LMIA or extending your work permit, I think your work permit is "automatically" extended until the decision for LMIA or WP extension is granted.
I may be wrong, others may correct me if I am wrong.

If your employer would like to retain you, they may apply close work permit, and while waiting the decision, you may continue to work (check with your Company), other option extend your spouse and your WP. The best, discuss with immigration lawyer or consultants :)
Good Luck!!! hope they nominate you before April 2025, then you can apply WP with province support.
